An interesting sequel that tries to be it's own thing.
This was, of course, never going to be as good as the original but I appreciate that they're trying to do something a little different with this. The filmmakers don't quite succeed in some of it, but I appreciate the effort and overall it's a pretty decent film about teenagers trapped in their own toxicity and how some of them try to escape it, with tragic results.
(That said, there's a dream sequence at the end with 1999 CGI that could stand to be completely cut.)
